  • 2 large eggs
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter or olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the bread: Cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread using a cookie cutter or a knife. Brush both sides with butter or olive oil.
  • Preheat the air fryer: Set the air fryer to 360°F (180°C) and let it preheat for 3-5 minutes.
  • Place the bread in the air fryer: Put the bread slices in the air fryer basket with the hole facing up.
  • Crack the egg: Carefully crack an egg into the hole in the bread. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Air fry: Cook the bread with the egg in the air fryer for 6-8 minutes. Check at 6 minutes for a runny yolk, and cook longer for a well-done egg.
  • Add cheese (optional): For a cheesy version, add a slice or sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the egg and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Serve: Remove the egg toast from the air fryer and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
