Ingredients
  

For the Ground Beef:

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds optional

For Serving:

  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup steamed or stir-fried vegetables broccoli, carrots, or bell peppers
  • Fried egg optional

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Rice: Cook rice according to package instructions.
  • Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add ground beef, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add Flavor: Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Season the Beef: Add soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
  • Garnish: Remove from heat and mix in sliced green onions.
  • Prepare Vegetables: Steam or stir-fry vegetables while the beef is cooking.
  • Assemble: Place rice in a bowl, top with beef and vegetables, and add a fried egg if desired.
  • Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and additional green onions, then enjoy!
