For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb 450g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika optional, for color and slight heat
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup 120ml chicken broth (or white wine for extra flavor)
- 1 cup 240ml heavy cream
- 1/2 cup 50g grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional, for a hint of spice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
Prepare the Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Cream Sauce
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth (or wine), scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
Lower the heat and add heavy cream, stirring continuously.
Stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
Simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Combine & Serve
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce.
Simmer for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
- Use Fresh Shrimp – Fresh or high-quality frozen shrimp make all the difference in taste.
- Don’t Overcook – Shrimp cook quickly! Overcooking makes them rubbery.
- Balance the Sauce – If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of broth. If too thin, let it simmer longer.
- Enhance the Flavor – A squeeze of lemon juice at the end adds brightness to the dish.
