Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb 450g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika optional, for color and slight heat
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup 120ml chicken broth (or white wine for extra flavor)
  • 1 cup 240ml heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup 50g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional, for a hint of spice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Garlic Cream Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in chicken broth (or wine), scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  • Lower the heat and add heavy cream, stirring continuously.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Combine & Serve

  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce.
  • Simmer for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Shrimp – Fresh or high-quality frozen shrimp make all the difference in taste.
  • Don’t Overcook – Shrimp cook quickly! Overcooking makes them rubbery.
  • Balance the Sauce – If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of broth. If too thin, let it simmer longer.
  • Enhance the Flavor – A squeeze of lemon juice at the end adds brightness to the dish.
