  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • A squeeze of lime juice

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2: Prep the Sweet Potatoes

  • Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into ¼-inch thick matchsticks for even cooking.

Step 3: Soak the Fries

  • Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Drain and pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel or paper towels.

Step 4: Coat with Cornstarch & Oil

  • In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and mix well.

Step 5: Season the Fries

  • Sprinkle the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne over the fries.
  • Toss until all fries are well-coated.

Step 6: Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.

Step 7: Bake & Flip

  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Flip the fries using tongs and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Step 8: Serve & Enjoy

  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley or parmesan cheese.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • For Extra Crispiness: Ensure fries are completely dry before coating with cornstarch.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes.
  • Make it Spicy: Add more cayenne pepper or mix in chipotle powder for extra heat.
  • Alternative Seasonings: Try Cajun seasoning, Italian herbs, or cinnamon & maple for a twist.
